The POP-UP EVENT STORE is a joint effort between four local retailers which will be held on Wednesday 20th September from 10am until 10pm at Valletta Waterfront.
The four retailers, who also happen to be mums, have brought together their creativity and passion for their unique brands, with the aim of offering a one-stop shop for busy mums.
Who are these four retailers?
1) Alexia Bannister, Founder of Kekstor
Kekstor is a carefully curated online toy shop, offering toys and gifts that have that something unique and different.
Alexia, mum of 3 explains how the store is entirely focused on promoting the importance of imaginary and open-ended play.
“We offer a varied selection of enchanting items to decorate your nursery and children’s bedrooms, as well as unique toys designed to unleash little (and big!) imaginations.”

2) Luiza Ioana Cimpean, Founder of MyBarefootIsland
My Barefoot Island, is an online store comprising of hand-picked items that support fair trade. From the elegant baskets, which are a work of art in themselves, to the gorgeous Turkish peshtemal towels which are beautifully hand-loomed, My Barefoot Island is a free spirited brand with an ethos for quality and attention to detail.

“I am currently in love with the Xwejni towel (shown in the image above). I love the fact that is can be used as a towel and also moonlight as a luxury scarf” Luzia Ioana Cimpean.
3) Annabelle Sullivan, Founder of Apparel by belle
Apparel by belle comprises of an array of simple and stylish handmade baby essentials ranging from blankets and muslin to teethers and carry-pouches. The products bring not only style but functionality to home and life.
When asked what we should expect from the event, Annabelle says: “In my case, i make all my items, in a smoke and pet free home, by hand, using only the finest fabrics available. So my products pamper babies, toddlers and young children and mums alike.”

4) Lisa Frendo, founder of Three Little Pigs
Specializing mostly in wooden toys is Three Little Pigs, a concept boutique toy store run by Lisa Frendo who carefully selects charming international brands designed to inspire creativity and encourage wonder. Toys which excite children to rediscover the art of playing by going back to basics and enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood allowing them to be drawn into the magic of their world.
When we asked about the event Lisa said “I am constantly thinking about how to create innovative shopping opportunities and I found myself chatting to Annabelle one afternoon, about coming together to organise a fun way to shop. That’s how the idea of a pop-up shop came about.”
