‘My Favourite Things’ is a concept store which has at its heart a passion for brands that offer individuality and practicality to mums.
The store was founded by Emma Diacono, who, when pregnant with her first-born discovered her zest for spotting brands that were developed and created with parents in mind.
We visit the store to find out what sets Emma’s Favourite Things apart from other products.
It wasn’t easy to narrow it down but here are the 6 things we loved about ‘My Favourite Things‘:
1. Every single product here is hand-picked personally by Emma.
She evidently has an eye for beautiful design and a knack for finding products that help solve problems for mums.

This is one of the most compact pushchairs around, with the facility of being folded and carried around like a bag.
A fine example is the Babyzen stroller, which is the first product that inspired her to set up ‘My Favourite Things’.
“In Malta pavements are just not wide enough and have too many obstacles to cater for bulky strollers”, Emma says.
2. Many of the brands are endorsed by safe parenting associations.

One example is the ‘Moba bassinet’ which as a brand is the official partner of the Lullaby Trust, promoting safer sleeping.
Another is, The ‘Je Porte Mon Bebe’ infant carriers, which are recognised by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
3. Each brand has a story.

The two mums came up with a towel which attaches around your neck like an apron, so both hands are free when lifting baby up out of the bath.
One story we particularly love is that of the Cuddledry baby apron which was developed by two mums who witnessed first-hand, the struggles of taking their babies out of the bath in a safe manner.
The product is endorsed by the ‘Child Accident Prevention Trust’ as ‘contributing to safer parenting’
4. Individuality and style.

We love the fact that they actually look great and that you can remove the baby parts and keep using them as stylish handbags when your child is older.
Each and every brand, is here because of one or more distinctive features. One prime example is the ‘storksak’ range of stylish ‘changing bags’ which were developed by two working mums, Melanie Marshall and Suzi Bergman offering stylish, elegant designs and practicality in both leather and non-leather fabrics.
5. Superb and unique gift ideas.

The store is brimming with wonderfully unique gift ideas, including personalised books, wooden furniture, organic mum and baby skin care range and classic toy cars amongst many others.
6. Emma’s pure passion and personalised approach.

“Brands come on board because they like our personalized approach. We do not focus on numbers and have an actual passion for the brands we stock, and for helping mums.”
Emma describes how for her it was important to give mums the opportunity to witness the look and feel of these unique products for themselves. “Parents could come here, have a look at the items, ask questions and take an educated decision.”

We could go on and on about the numerous lovely products that we saw at ‘My Favourite Things’, from the colourful muslins and wooden toys, to the stylish changing bags and one-of-a-kind Nuna baby relaxer.
